JBCM (Japan Bakery and Confectionery Machinery
Manufacturers' Association) was originated from
the former Tokyo Bakery Machinery Research Society
organized in 1950 with interested manufacturers
in Tokyo and Yokohama Districts and then started
in 1962 as an organization representing the bakery
and confectionery machinery industry in Japan under
the name of Japan Bakery and Confectionery Machinery
Manufacturers' Cooperative Association established by
a coalition of leading manufacturers throughout Japan.
Then, in order to respond to a demand for bakery and confectionery products
that arose at the dawn of abundant dietary life, through the aggressive
work on research and development of bakery and confectionery machinery
for 49 years since established, or for 61 years from the start of the activities
JBCM has steadily grown to have 113 member manufacturers occupying 90%
of the total share of the industry and has established a firm position
in the Japan Bakery and Confectionery Machinery Industry.
In the meantime, the first show exclusive for bakery and confectionery
machinery was held in March 1971 for the purpose of displaying the latest
results of the members'research and development in machinery to make further
mutual improvement in technical development and exploitation of a demand
in the market. This show named as MOBAC, which is an abbreviation for Machinery
Of Bakery And Confectionery, was continuously held in Tokyo and Osaka alternately
and the 22th MOBAC SHOW 2011 was successfully completed in February with
more than 45,000 visitors. MOBAC SHOW has now come to be highly evaluated
as an international show for bakery and confectionery related industry
showing the latest technological standards and an updated trend in development
of machinery.
Also in 1995, for further energization of activities
and creation of a modern image, the Cooperative
Association was renamed as Japan Bakery and
Confectionery Machinery Manufacturers' Association and
since then JBCM has been making every effort
to provide wide interchange and cooperation with
respective related industries as users that surround
the bakery and confectionery industry to further
develop and heighten the bakery and confectionery
machinery industry.
JBCM as an internationally recognized organization,
in response to a further progress in both domestic and
overseas borderless movement expected in the new
centrury, will continuously develop its positive
activities to meet the expectation from both overseas
and domestic industries.
